Mount Ida College, or MIC for short, is a comprehensive college in Newton, which is a city located in the US state of Massachusetts, situated in Middlesex County, with a population of more than 83 800 inhabitants, according to the 2000 census estimate, which makes it the tenth largest city in the state.
MIC was established in 1899 and first started as a private women's high school, on Mount Ida Hill, in Newton Corner, MA. In 1939, the college was moved to its present location, and, in 1967, awarded its first associate degree.
